| 26-8-2009 - Melt Down | My mood while writing this blog:A mess |
So far this has been the week from hell :( My morning sickness has been off and on since I found out I was pregnant, but nothing major. All of a sudden it is back and kicking my a**!! Nothing seems to stay down, I'm STARVING all of the time but about 15 minutes after I eat I am headed for the bathroom. Potty training Sophia has become impossible because everytime she is near the toilet she lifts the lid, leans over, makes coughing noises and then spits in it. Its hilarious & disturbing at the same time.. Before getting pregnant I was taking Zofran due to the vomiting from my AIP and it worked wonders, but now it just makes me really tired and wears of after about 4 hours. So after doing some research I found a lot of women who are taking Unisom and B6 before bed. Called my OB yesterday and he said it works wonders for some and is all for me giving it a try.. So I guess I will be picking some up after work today. I just pray that is helps. I am starting to have a very hard time functioning at work and really need to save my time off in case I have another pancreatitis attack and have to be in the hospital for a while..
Then this morning things went from bad to horrible. I was getting ready for work and trying to play with Fia at the same time. She kept giving me her dolly to swaddle, then she would unwrap her, laugh and giver her back for me to do it again. She handed me the dolly and went to reach for it and take it back really quick but missed and her hand landed right on the curling iron. Now looking back I should have seen it coming, def an accident waiting to happen. I quickly got her hand under ice cold running water but it started to swell up immediately, then I could see it starting to blister. The poor thing ended up with 1st and 2nd degree burns on her little hand :(
Oh and another thing- when we first got to the ER our pediatrician happened to be standing right outside the door talking to a nurse, so I went over to let him know what had happened and he completely blew us off!! He said he is on call on the 2nd floor so they will call him from the ER if needed.. You would think he could have stopped in to check on her since she has been a patient of his since birth?! This is not the 1st time I have had an issue with his "people skills" and I'm really thinking about finding her a new doctor. Last time she was sick he told us we were being paranoid 1st time parents and to take her home- 2 days later she had to be hospitalized! Do you guys think I am over reacting? Would you stay with him???
***UPDATE***
I have an appointment right after work to meet w/ a new pediatrician. He comes highly recommended and the best part... they have late office hours during the week and are also there on Saturday & Sunday- Oh and if its an emergency they will even make house calls! I hope it all works out...
