08-9-2009 - My Old Friend Kidney Infection

My mood while writing this blog: frustrated

It seems like everytime I write a blog its because I am venting..One of these days I will have to get around to writing a "happy blog".... but today is not that day ;)

Last week I had to take the baby to the doctor for a fever that wouldn't go away... ended up being from her teeth!!

Then the next I went to the dentist where out of no where he tells me he is going to be drilling a post thru the tooth into my gum- YAY!- (not to mention it cost me $500 AFTER my insurance)

Two days later I was getting ready for work, doing my make up when I hear Sophia yell MOM!!! from behind me. I turned around and she stabs me in the eye with a paintbrush.. yup thats what I said... a paintbrush. I think her plan was to help me do my makeup (so much for that) I ended up having to go to the eye doctor who informed me I have 7 scratches in my eye from all the little bristles.. that was 5 days ago and my vision is still very cloudy..

So I pretty much spent my entire 3 day weekend in bed. Besides the fact that my eye was swollen shut I was feeling really run down and just not rite. I chalked it to up to all the stress of the previous week. Thank goodness for hubby- he played with my daughter the entire time, even took her shopping for all new fall clothes.. So anyway Sunday I noticed I had a slight fever and I seemed to be going to the bathroom a little more, and once Monday rolled around I was having trouble urinating all together and I had started vomiting. Kept telling myself to just wait til Tuesday when my OB would be back in the office....BAD IDEA!!!!

I woke up this morning with such horrible pains in my lower back (right side) and I knew instantly what is was... another kidney infection. I had them alot during my last pregnancy, so I am very familiar. Got in to see my Dr this afternoon and yup- I was right. Now I have to take antibiotics and if they dont start working within 24-48 I will be back in the hospital for IV meds because I waited so long.. Now I am kicking myself for not going when I first noticed it.
