Finally a free minute for an update..
I had my 23 week OB appointment on Wednsday.. it didnt go as well as I had hoped :( I have been feeling kind of "off" lately. Very tired and super thirsty.. Like I've been walking thru the desert with out water for days! And then when I do take a drink I have to remind myself to stop and breath!! Its crazy! So anyway I gave a urine sample to the nurse and after she dipped the little stick I could tell by the look on her face it wasnt good. She said she would be right back, that she needed to get the doctor.
My doctor came in and said that there was ALOT of glucose in my urine.. ALOT. I have been really watching what I eat and drink because this was always a concern of mine knowing that my pancreas doesnt function properly. I allow myself sweets every now and then, but its rare. I dont drink anything but water, and lots of it.. So I go back in a few days for a glucose tolerance test, which he is pretty positive I will fail.. Great.
Not sure what to do til then.. I will obviously cut out the sweets completely, but I have looked up GD diets and it seems like I have pretty much been following the rules with out realizing it. So if I am eating what I am supposed to and my glucose is still high whats the next step?
I feel so helpless at this point and it really sux!
