19-5-2008 - OH MY LAWD

WELL, we're IN week 36...though by my doctors "calculation" I'm 36 weeks and IN week 37...bah. So, I haven't kept up with this at ALL. I feel so bad. I wish I was as dedicated as some of the other pregs in here who have taken a belly shot every week...I don't think I've taken one for me to keep. I have sent my dear mother some text photos, but those were taken with a cell camera and ech...not that GREAT....

My last appointment was friday. I was 1-2 cm dialated and 50% effaced-whatever the hell that means...I get the whole dialated thing...but what I REALLY want to know is when is this 8 legged alien coming out of me??? don't get me wrong, I'm LOVIN feeling my little guy bouncing around in there, but I gotta say-I'm totally over the whole pregnancy thing. GRANTED, I've had it MUCH easier than most women-even with my little complications. I have gained so much weight, but at the same time, I've been REALLY, REALLY, REALLY lucky, blessed and thankful that I haven't gotten any stretchmarks. THEN again, I've still got 3.5 weeks to go and anything can happen...but I've been religious about rubbing heavy cream on it after every single shower/bath and NOT scratching (I heard somewhere that it causes stretchmarks) SO, I figure I got the sweetest part of the deal...I gain the weight or get stretchmarks...I'll happily gain the weight...

It's getting close. I can tell when my cervix is dialating. I can feel it...so weird. I asked my doctor what these weird little feelings were-kinda a scratchy crampy kind of feeling in my naughty bits...lol. He already knows that I can feel when I'm ovulating-hence the almost PERFECT planning as far as getting pregnant when we wanted to...I would have been happier with a month or so BEFORE but my honey wasn't quite ready. So he said I'm most likely feeling my cervix dialating. oh my...if I can feel that so easily, I wonder what labor is going to be like...oh....sh*t. well, c'est la vie...millions of women go through this all the time and only a few have died from it...and most likely from poor medical care.

I asked patrick about the worst part of pregnancy...I got an "I dunno." Well, I can tell you the worst part for me...aside from getting HUGE...ha...I'm getting an answer out of him-BELIEVE ME. He is ALWAYS rubbing my belly. Its awesome when I have contractions-it totally relaxes my belly-it feels like a brick before he rubs and all I have to do is tell him that I'm contracting and he comes and rubs my belly. Afterward, my tummy is nice and soft and I'm relatively comfy again. I think my little Xander knows it's him-he starts bumping around in there...speaking of bumping...omg...this little guy is STRONG! I'm not talking about a few little taps...I mean a full fledged "EXCUUUSE YOU!" kind of bump. Dr C said that he would estimate the weight to be at about 7.5 pounds...holy sh*t...does that mean that i'm gonna have a 10 lb baby?!? I still have another 3+ weeks! omg....Xander can bump me and it moves the whole bed. CRAZY!
