My mood while writing this blog: Good |
Well I took the baby to the doc yesterday and I can't beleive that Collin is just 6 weeks old and he weighs 12lbs 11oz!!!! He is wearing 3-6 month clothes already, too. That makes me so sad!!! They grow way to fast! The doctor said that as far as the fussiness goes, and the constantly wanting to eat that I should try feeding him some rice cereal in his bottle. I said, "Believe it or not I already tried that and he didn't like it!" She told me to keep trying and gave me a few techniques to try, even though I had already tried almost all of them. The good thing is that she doesn't feel that he has reflux or colic. Last night he woke up 3 times at around 1am, 3am, and 6am, not much better. So I will just keep doing what i'm doing, but I do know that he will sleep someday! LOL

Thursday, 17 Jul My last boy was like that. He put on a pound a week for the first few months and was never full. Needless to say, the breastfeeding didn't work out too well for him because he was constantly feeding. I put him on Enfamil AR, which already has the rice starch mixed in, without as much texture as the rice cereal has, and that seemed to keep him content for longer periods of time. The only type of cereal that he would ever eat, was the type flavored with bananas, so maybe you could try that. I know they tell you not to add on fruits until later on, but I started mine when he was 4 weeks old (and 11.5 lbs). It was the only way that I could get any sleep at night. My newest son doesn't have quite as much of an appetite... yet. Good luck on getting some sleep soon. mrsclev -

Wednesday, 16 Jul Hello! I was reading yourblog on the weight, you said the doc told you to put rice cereal in the bottle. How much did he say to put in there? My baby is 3.5 weeks and I already do that, I started with half a teaspoon, it made no difference. Yesterday I put one teaspoon, not too much change either. I was thinking of upping the dose next week, maybe a more rounded teaspoon in his first night bottle only to see if he'll let me sleep at least 5 hours straight. Thanks 4 your help!
