22-7-2008 - Childbirth class & Walmart

My mood while writing this blog: Tired

Our first class last night went very well, there are 6 other couples in there with us and I'm pretty sure most of them are in their last trimester also. We learned some exercises to do to help with back pain and round ligament pain and each couple learned how to breathe insink with each other, which I found was very beneficial! I think that was the part last night that I enjoyed the most and Rob also enjoyed it. I was really surprised that he played such an active role last night in class, I didn't think he was all that interested in even going but last night I saw that he was and is very interested in it. On the way home he was even talking about things that he needed to ask at our next class. Alot of the class is relaxation techniques, going through the childbirth process and what to expect, excercises to relieve aches and pains now, and different ways to relieve pain during labor.

After class we took stopped by Walmart on our way home. I started having some light pains in my stomach right before we got there. When we started walking in the store they started getting a little worse, but I figured if I walked around for a little bit they would go away. For a while they were really hurting my whole stomach would get tight and my back would tense up and I would have to hold on to Rob. They finally stopped about 10 min. before we left the store. That was the first time that I had had them for that long of a period of time which scared me a little but I guess that's just where everything is getting ready :)

I've noticed lately that when I walk around anywhere for several minutes that my stomach will tighten up too. I went to a craft store the other day and I was hurting so much that my sister went and got a wheel
chair to push me around in. I was embarrassed but boy did I feel better sitting down. My dr. told me take it easy the next few weeks.

I'm so glad the classes went well! I hope when our time comes to have a baby that Ronnie will be just as involved, but I think he will seeing how involved he is in just the things I need to do to prepare myself to conceive and carry a baby... :) And, believe me, I have a lot more questions!! hehe
