18-10-2009 - one year update on miss journey

My mood while writing this blog: cant complain!

Little Miss Journey is one now! We had a family party on Tuesday the 13th in the evening and we celebrated her birthday with other kids and friends on Saturday the 17th at a place called Energy Plex. It was great, she LOVED LOVED LOVED her cake lol. She got tons of presents and had a great time at both parties.

She got her 12 month shots, there was 4 of them, 2 in each arm :( it didnt go so great but atleast its done now. She now weighs 22.5lbs (50-75 percentile), is 28.5inches tall (20th percentile-lol) and her head is 47cm (90-97 percentile). So basically she is doing really good and is top heavy! lol. I am happy her weight is average because if anyone remembers our weight issues... yeah, so i am happy all around. Not surprised shes short either, I am short and her SD isnt that tall either. And well, shes always had a large head haha.

She walks now, shes started taking a few steps here and there a couple weeks ago but she is full out walking/running now. Its really cute. shes still somewhat wobbly. She barley crawls anymore, only if she wants to get there REALLY fast LOL.

Still waiting for some "real" legible words from her, she says mama, ama (grandma), dada which is her word for the dog, wa for water, up & hi (randomly), and sometimes when she claps she says yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. She is starting to say yeah and mmhmm once in awhile but i havent determined yet if those are "words" or sounds still lol.

It has been one thing after another for her in the last few weeks, first she had her first ear infection which was a double one, so in both ears although luckily we caught it early and it didnt ever get horrible. After that she caught her first cold, then hand foot and mouth disease went through her daycare (so glad she DIDNT catch this), but unfortunatley she did pick up some pink eye somewhere along the way, either from daycare or one of the play yards we go too but again we caught it early so it never got bad. She still has a touch of the cold or flu and she passed it along to me (which is AWESOME btw lol). So last night was rough, it was the first time she was pukey sick, and so was I. But id rather have me sick than her anyday :( Hopefully we both feel better soon. She already seems to be feeling better.

Shes eating really well, she has always been a good eater, she has been on real food for months now though. Still BF a fair amount (and still proud of it!) shes still quite attached which is a-ok with this mama.

Shes wearing mostly size 18 month clothing now which is funny since shes short so its all mostly too long but it fits good otherwise, some of her 12 month stuff fits. Im sure you all know how randomly kids clothes are sized though so it pretty much depends on where its from.

School is going really well for me, I am getting great marks on my written work (think high 90's percentwise) and I have now passed 2 of my 3 certification skills tests before moving on to practicum in december. Still single, still loving it. Actually, I wouldnt mind sharing my life with someone but I dont have the time to even think about dating anyone right now and I havent met anyone worth considering changing my mind. I meet a LOT of skeezy guys haha but Im used to that too since im such creeper bait. Besides, my heart belongs to one person only and its not possible for us to be together at this point in time, so until things change (if ever) I guess we'll just continue to be kick ass friends. But he is pretty awesome. :) and he makes me smile :)
