03-12-2008 - 33 Weeks OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

I made it to week 33!!!! This pregnancy has been so hard and complicated. It is my last one so I will have no idea how it is to have a smooth sailing pregnancy.

This weekend scared the crap out of me! I had been bleeding a tad for a week straight and it got worse so I went into Labor/Delivery as I was also having contractions 2-3 minutes apart. They checked the placenta via ultrasound and determined I had a slight placenta abruption as I still have marginal placenta previa.....Marginal is when the placenta is right next to the cervix but does not cover it. They said that dilation and effacement opens up the uterus a tad and in turn that area separates from the placenta. They kept me in a labor/delivery room for 48 hours prepared for an emergency c-section. I was not allowed to get up and move around, had a cathetar, got put on magnesium sulfate and was watched closely. If the bleeding hadn't stopped they would have delivered right away. It took 24 hours for the contractions to subside and I was only expelling tons of mucous with old blood. I received the round of steroids to help mature Teddy's lungs and after 48 hours was sent home. The next day I followed up with my Doctor and was told that if I have any more bleeding that they would deliver me. He said if Teddy came now, he would be ok but in the hospital for at least a week. We are doing everything we can to keep him snug for at least another 2 weeks. I have not had any new bleeding and I am still having contractions.....sometimes they are more like BH, but others are really painful. I find when I get stressed out they get worse.......and right now I have had alot of stress the past few days. My DS has gotten himself into some serious trouble that we have to deal with now. He has been through alot these past few months and it breaks my heart to see him so angry and hurt.

My DH has really stepped up to the plate. Bringing me snacks/drinks/not allowing me to do anything. He was laughing at how much I ate yesterday. I think I have 7 months of pregnancy crammed into one as heartburn is horrible and I can not eat enough! Yesterday I was going to take a nap but I attacked the chips and dip and my nap became not important, lol.

Yay for the both of us making it to week 33...not that I was at risk like you. But I seriously never anticipated you'd make it this far. It's soooo wonderful! I know all of us would rejoice if you can make it long enough so Teddy won't have any extended hospital stays. Can you imagine being able to bring one one of your kids home right away? Oh we will pray pray pray!!!!!!

Congrats on making it to week 33! Sounds like a very big accomplishment for you. Sorry you are under so much stress right now with your son and everything. It'll probably take him awhile to get adjusted to being back with you. How long was he with his dad? Sounds like DH is being wonderful right now...hopefully, he'll keep up the good work.
