22-5-2009 - Long Weekend/Dr. appt

My mood while writing this blog: Ready

Hey everyone....I just got back from the Dr. and he stripped my membranes, and I was dialated to 5cm. I can't belive he let me go home, I just want this whole labor thing to kick in, 5cm seems like alot to me! He said that stripping my membranes might not do to much becuase its mostly for whenever you are only dialated a little bit. I wish that he would have broke my water. That would have been nice, then I would have just got it all over with. I really wanted to have the baby before today because this is a long weekend and my family has it off, my dad and brother in law don't have to work today and they don't go back till Tuesday. And my brother in law --which would bring my sister and their little 4mo old baby...has stuff going on like every weekend for the next 7WEEKS!! Thats along time, and I just want my sister to be here and I want to get pictures of my baby and her baby together. Now I've jsut got to wait some more. I've been walking like a mad woman, I bet I walk about 2 miles a day now. This whole pregnancy my ultrasounds (i've been high risk so everytime I go I get an us.) have said that the baby is measuring about 1.5 to 2 weeks ahead, EVERYONE but the 1st one. They just won't change my due date. They go by the 1st one....well thats cool and all but now my belly is measuring 40cm/40 weeks...so...does that mean my baby is going to be huge??? 4 weeks ago the baby was weighing 5lb 14oz...4 weeks ago, I"m not sure. Anyways hopefully him doing what he did this morning will help things move along. :) My husband he said that sense I've made it this far I need to wait till Monday night or Tuesday morning so he can have an xtra long weekend/week. LOL I hope for his sake it will happen like that. With his work they give him the day that I have the baby off then after that 3 days paid. Then I think whatever the day falls on he is going to take 2 or 3 vac. days so he will be here a week with us. Then go back to work. I think that will be ok. I mean I want him to take more days off but what if stuff comes up ya know....like Christmas time and everything I think a week time will be good and that doesn't include weekends, depending on what day our little baby comes.....
