29-5-2009 - Birth Story amazingMy mood while writing this blog:
amazing

Friday morning had a Dr. appt. I was dialated to 5cm at the appt. the Dr. then stripped my membranes to make something happen. I cramped all day but nothing too, too bad. That evening we were making smores outside by the fire, and had the neighbors over. I kept cramping, and it got worse and worse, I would try and find something to go do, but nothing really made it go away. My husband asked if he had time to take a shower and I told him ya...then after about an hour here at the house I decided it was time to go. I got to the hospital around 11:30 and was to a 6cm, then my water broke as soon as she got done checking me. Then I got wheeled into the L&D room, and by the time I got there I was an 8cm. Then in about 20 min I told them it was time to push, she checked me then and hurried and got the Dr. and he came in and I pushed for about an hour, then had him. It was amazing. Labor is TOTALLY an outter body experience. The whole time I was asking ppl, "Is this really happening?!?!?"

BTW to everyone that hasn't had their baby yet......SPREAD YOUR LEGS AS FAR AS THEY GO!!!" my Dr. let me push and push and push, with no results for about 20-30 min. I was getting NOWHERE!! and was getting really upset, well then the Dr. just puts his hands on my knees and spreads my legs WAAAAAY out and then the baby just came down and finally made its way out. But it was so much better after he did that. I was basically just flexing my muscles at the 1st I wasn't really pushing. I was really mad that someone didn't help me out at the first, I just didn't realise that they were so close together. So when you start to push SPREAD THEM WIDE!!! lol
