| 14-5-2008 - Michael Brooks Birth Story... |  My mood while writing this blog:happy |
I was in bed watching TV with my bf last Wednesday (05/07) when my water broke... it was about 11pm... we got to the hospital around 12am... I had mild contractions but I was not dilated at all.. they put on the IV and the contractions started to get stronger... they checked me again about 3am and not dilated at all... contractions were now about 3 minutes apart but not that bad... they put some drugs for pain on my IV and told me to sleep through the night... about 8 am next morning they checked me again and I had no progress dilating and my contractions were now gone... doctor decided to start the pitocin... I got the pitocin about 9am and around 10 my contractions where about 3 minutes apart again but the pain was unreal... so I asked for the EPI...and it came right away... in about 15 minutes I had no more pain.... they checked me again at noon and I was about 5cm dilated... around 2:30 I was fully dilated but baby was not in the birth canal yet... I started to push around 3:30 and baby Michael was born on Thursday the 8th of May at 5:03pm, weighting 7 pounds and 15 ounces ad measuring 48 inches... It was the happiest moment of my live when he came out and I got to hold him...I guess that is no feeling to describe the first time you hold your son and look him in the eye...
