25-5-2009 - Doctor appointment

My mood while writing this blog: sad, but prepared

I met with my doctor today. I told her that I had been spotting pink mucous and I have had some cramping. She is sending me for an emergency ultrasound probably tomorrow. None of us are very hopeful at this point as we are all quite sure I am going to miscarry again. She is going to refer me to a fertility clinic, and an obstetrician as there is a 6 month wait list at the fertility clinic, and she is hoping that the obs will get us in sooner and at least start to do some more in depth testing. She said it is unusual for someone with a child already who had no complications with that pregnancy to go on and have two consecutive miscarriages, and that we need to look into this. One miscarriage is just bad luck and even though two may be also, it could also mean something is wrong. She is doing some blood work on me and I have to fast for eight hours so I can't go get it done until tomorrow. she is also going to check my Beta levels. During ultrasound I am prepared to see either a baby that has passed or no baby at all again. As much as I dream for them to say all is fine, I know that it is not a reality, and am prepared for that.

I was very happy that she stated immediatly that we need to look into this and will be sending us to a specialist. I also need to get another Rhogam since I am RH - and the micro dose that I got with my last miscarriage probably wouldn't have lasted long enough. That is all that I know for now and will update when I know more.
