04-8-2009 - i found a LUMP!

My mood while writing this blog: worried

i noticed a super teeny bump on my collar bone around 3 months ago, it wasnt sore or anything so i thought ahhh its part of my bone im just imagining things. yesterday it seemed very tender in the same area so i was poking around on it and noticed the lump was bigger. i went to the dr today just to ease my mind about it and he thinks its my thyroid and order an ultrasound to be done on my throat due to the fact that im preg and cant have an xray. im so worried about this, i dont know much about this kind of stuff but i know ur thyroid isnt really something good to have anything wrong w/ it. has anybody else ever heard of this or actually had this happen to them?

I have gone through what you are going through... I too found a lump on my thyroid years ago and after lots and lots of tests and issues, I ended up having a non cancerous tumor that was growing out of my thyroid. I ended up having to have most of my thyroid removed and things ended up just fine :) I know it is scary , I was only 21 when I was having all of this happen and the doctors all scared me with the idea's of it being the worst case scenario.. If you have any questions about any of it, let me know :)

hey hun i know alot about thyroid usually if you have something wrong with it you have to take some kind of medication for most of the rest of your life. I have not been diagnosed with it but my mom and all my aunts have it. THey have hyper thyroid their is also a lower one called hypo thyroid. good luck and let me know what happens
