| 14-4-2008 - clothing RANT |  My mood while writing this blog:fat and frustrated |
(14w5d) Ok - who the heck makes maternity clothes - because at this point I am pretty sure that it is NOT (1) an average sized woman (2) someone under the height of 5'10 or (3) I'm not even sure if an actual woman is designing this crapola. Maybe all that was a little hateful, BUT I AM PREGNANT, HORMONAL, AND BUSTING OUT OF MY CLOTHES LIKE AN OVER STUFFED SAUSAGE!!
I have a really tough time buying clothes on a good day (and when I say a good day I mean the maybe 3 days per year where i don't feel too short, too fat, or too blah). My problem is two fold - I am only 4'10(ish), but I am wide in the hips/bum/thighs department. So to give you a good visual - I'm normal for my height from my belly button up, and from my knees down - but my whole mid section is like compacted. soooo...
As maternity clothes go - I have not been able to find anything that actually fits. I bought one pair of pants, but the are soooo long - once I hem them they loose the cute little boot cute/flare. ARGH! Capri pants end up being flood pants on me. I am soooooo frustrated!! I am finally kinda liking the way my body is looking - I'm getting a cute little belly and I don't feel so self-conscious... if only i could find clothes that fit!!!
Ok.. i've ranted enough. I might go cry now a little. GRRRRR!!

I am right there with you~ it's so hard to find maternity clothes that are actually going to fit! I am short too, about 5'1". I bought a pair of mat. pants from Target and cried when I got home because no pair of shoes would be tall enough to keep them from dragging the floor! I found jeans that are sized Short from Old Navy. As far as shirts, I can't find any maternity shirts that aren't way over priced. I have been buying shirts from Cato's, because the style they are carrying right now is very adaptable to the growing bump!

i feel your pain girl, lol. i'm actually 5"8 and i also have a hard time finding clothes that look as good on me as they do on the mannequin! pants are too short of they are designed for someone who has absolutely no curves. i gave up on jeans years ago for this reason and stick to yoga pants and track pants for this reason. this has worked out well for maternity because so far i haven't had to buy any maternity pants, and im going on 34 weeks. shirts are a whole other department. its taken my forever to find anything half decent (i finally came across a motherhood maternity store nearby and it has some comfy stuff) but the sizing is weird. u are supposed to go by your pre-preggo size, which i did which is an extra small in terms of tops. since they only have small, med, large and plus size stuff, i got the small size. why is that 3 weeks have passed and i literally RIPPED one of my shirts pulling it over my bust? its like a person with a small frame isn't allowed to have big boobs now that they are pregnant? needless to say i have no upgraded to a medium. ugh, what a waste of money! anyway, thats my clothing rant, lol
