25-12-2011 - Update on everything!

Hello ladies and Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a great day! Well, its been almost a year since my last blog and the past 6 months I've had a lot going on! Lily turned 1 June 21 and she is now 18 months old, talks a lot and started walking Oct 20 (1 day shy of turning 16 months, lol). Benjamin is almost 4! I just cannot believe it. Time goes by so fast! He is really into cars, trucks, trains, building blocks. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins and Looney Tunes-just like mommy and daddy watched growing up <3 The kids are great!
Back in June I applied to be a gestational carrier and was approved. I was matched with a single, straight guy in his late 30's who lives in NJ. I will call him D for privacy reasons. D is a great guy. He hasn't found "the one" yet but doesn't want to wait any longer to have a family (like I said he is almost 40) so he decided to pursue surrogacy. We met him back in October and he took us out to dinner. We had a nice time. He surprised us with a $100 gift card to Toys R Us for the kids! We were so thankful! In November my mom and I flew to Boston for my medical screening. I had to get a physical, blood work, camera inserted into my uterus and then they took a sample of my uterine wall. Oh, that hurt and I bled like crazy! Everything came back just fine and a couple of weeks ago the IVF clinic in Boston started me on birth control so they could control my cycle to match up with the egg donor's. Tomorrow I start Lupron, 10 units 2x a day and 1 baby aspirin a day. I watched the video tonight how to inject the Lupron and I was like O M G. Lol. But now I've calmed down and I know I can do it :) Ten days after tomorrow I will go to a monitoring clinic near me where they will take blood and do an u/s, to make sure the Lupron is doing what its supposed to be doing. I will have one more menstrual cycle, due on the 30th but whatever day I start I have to call the IVF clinic in Boston and let them know and they will give me further instructions. The transfer will happen the week of Jan 22, as long as everything is going as it should. I am really excited and so is D! I can't wait to be pregnant again!!

Thank you. The agency I'm going through is Circle Surrogacy. Have your cousin and his wife check them out. They are wonderful!

What a wonderful thing that you're doing. My cousin and his wife, who are the most amazing people, have been looking for a surrogate, but it's so difficult to find. They had tried for years, and she couldn't get pregnant, then she was diagnosed with cancer, and now they can't even try. She is cancer free now, thank God, but very much longing for a baby.
