24-6-2008 - Falling Apart! StableMy mood while writing this blog:
Stable

I guess in the beginning I thought this preganancy would be like my other two, ok, not thrilling but I managed pretty well even with the occasional yucky spell of whatever. I knew this time I was older and a bit out of shape due to being sick all of last year, but I am superwoman and it would have no effect on me. WRONG!

The last month or so has been a real eye opener and a lesson to me. I am falling apart one piece at a time! This pregnancy has had the most complications out of all of them. And although none are life threatening, they are painful or make you miserable.

My hair has become so kinky and curly that I cannot do a thing with it. I cut it early on in the pregnancy and now it is even hard to put into a pony tail. You know it is bad when your hairdresser tells you he has no idea what to do with it and he has over 25 years of experience.

Then I had gotten a cold sore on my bottom lip. Never in my life had I ever had a cold sore! They hurt, bad!! Not to mention they are ugly.

My feet swell like tree trunks and I have never had that happen before. It is kind of weird and uncomfortable, plus my shoes don't fit right.

I had a 4th degree thromboised hemorrhoid that had to be lanced. It hurt so bad that I spent almost 2 weeks in bed with ice packs and medication. I cried and cried for days. Luckily my husband was able to take off work and help me.

I have SPD, Symphsis Pubis Disorder, where your ligaments are weak and you pubic bone decides to move around. This is very painful and there are times I can hardly walk. I look like a little old lady and sometimes I wish I had a walker. I have to do physical therapy and exercises at home, but it still hurts.

I failed my 1 hour glucose and had to take the 3 hour, but I passed that one!! And my iron is a tad low so I want to sleep a lot even though I can't sleep!

I know there are several people out there a lot worse than me, and I try not to complain, but this has taken a toll on me both physically and mentally. I wish I had less time to go, but part of me is still holding on to this pregnancy since this is the only time we really are one with our child. I guess I am just not ready to let this little guy go yet!

You poor dear.
it's okay to just break down and cry and feel a little sorry for yourself every now and then! You have good reason!!! :) And I notice the emotions just swinging waaaay out sometimes these days... My heart, head, and TUMMY are full to bursting with concerns, plans, things to do, little energy to do them with, questions that are unanswered... a very emotional time. And a very beautiful time. I just sat yesterday in my favorite chair and leaned back and said, "Lord. I don't know so many things! Be my peace... I need your rest... I relenquish all the unknowings and I am going to listen to my uncomfortable body for a few minutes and do what it tells me -- to sit in this chair, close my eyes, and talk to You for a minute..." It was a lovely 25 minutes! :)

Bless your husband for assisting you!! You two will raise a fine son!! :) Let's keep our eyes on the prize dear sister!! All manner of things will be well and our sufferings will pass...

Love and hugs,
Hopes and prayers,
SueAnn
