17-8-2008 - pregnancy update: hospital stay thankfulMy mood while writing this blog:
thankful

Hi ladies!

Another quick update: On Thursday, 2am, I awoke with the same excruciating pain in my back. And was again on the floor unable to move. My husband immediately packed an overnight bag for me, and drove me to the hospital where we will be delivering the twins. (the day before, we had gone to the more local hospital)Upon arrival, we were taken immediately to Labor and Delivery, where they began to monitor the babies. My OB arrived soon after, and decided to check me in to the hospital. Thru 2 more types of urine samples it was confirmed that I do indeed have a kidney infection, and I was started on an IV for antibiotics and fluids. I was released this morning, after a 2 night stay, even though the infection remains. I am continuing on the antibiotics here at home, of course. I feel confident that this infection will be gone soon, as the pain in my kidneys is lessening each day! This was my first ever stay in a hospital..so I have had a brand new experience! The nurses took such excellent care of me! I know that we will in good hands when we return next month for the birth of these little ones! I am more anxious than ever to hold my babies!!! God's blessings to all! gina

I hope your infection cleared and that everything is going well. Not long now. My girls were born almost 2 weeks ago now. They are amazing!

I'm glad to hear you were in good hands - both at the hospital and with your husband. Must have been scary!!
