06-1-2009 - My Third Pregnancy - 7th Jan 2009

My mood while writing this blog: Very Bored But Happy

I am currently 14 weeks 6 days pregnant.. This pregnancy has been quite different compared to my previous pregnancies with my two daughters. I found out I was pregnant in mid October 2008 via a home pregnancy test. I was spotting to light bleeding at the time I carried out the test and didnt think I was pregnant, but was doing a test because one of my close girlfriends suggested that she thought I was pregnant.. I did the test to humour her and ended up surprising myself..

I was so excited and happy, but extremely worried when I completed the pregnancy test and decided I might make a trip to the doctor as the bleeding seemed to be getting a bit heavier.. When I seen the doctor at our local hospital they carriered out a pregnancy test too which also confirmed I was pregnant, but it was in the doctors opinion that I was only just pregnant was about to loose the baby. I was struck with sadness. The same day I had been filled with such joy and happiness I had it ripped away.

Days went past and the spotting/bleeding eased off and stopped.. I started to experience some pain in my lower left hand side that seemed to be getting worse.. I decided to make another trip to the doctor.. This time I found out I had a extremely bad urine infection and this would increase the chances that I would once again loose the baby.. More sadness filled my heart and only days later I started to spot again..

The urine infection went away and once again the spotting stopped and I was still pregnant.. But still I had a pain in my left hand side.. I was sent for an early ultrasound at 8 weeks.. During the ultrasound they found that the baby was doing fine.. But they also found that one of my ovaries was enlarged and has a 4cm cyst. They told me there was nothing to do but wait and see if the cyst goes away on it own by approximately 16 weeks.. So I am guessing I will find out at my next ultrasound at about 20 weeks if this is all good..

So currently I am happily pregnant.. I have had some morning sickness.. and I am currently experiencing regular headaches and occassionally I feel dizzy when I get up.. I have had my blood pressure checked but it is all good.. I am also getting alot of pins and needles in my feet and hands.. But I am sure it is all okay.. I am already showing.. I think more than I should be.. But like I said earlier, I am currently happily pregnant..
