07-5-2008 - Our 1st ultrasound

Yesterday was our FIRST ultrasound!!!! Whahoooooo !!! We are having a little girl. Her name is defenitely Zoey Barabra Lee Clausen. Now we can start working on our nursery. We are going to have a tinker bell theme I think. Water Lily is the color of the walls. We are going to do the trim a little darker in color. We are going to have white diagonal blinds. I get to pick out the crib within the next couple of days. My best friend Sandra and her Husbands mom Kathy are going to throw me a wonder shower. ITS going to be so very fun. My doctor said that I have a shortening of the cervix. Most women measure 3 inches, and mine is 2.5. So he said it won't be anything to be concerned about. I just have to take it easy, no heavy lifting, not too much bending over. Especially later in my pregnancy. If something should arise my doctor said that he would just sow my cervix shut until the baby is ready. This all depends on how well I obey his orders and how much pressure our Zoey is putting on my cervix closer to time. I also had my quads test done for down syndrome so we should know the results in a week. I will keep my blog updated on those results when I get them. We are not going to worry. The technician told us that since Zoey's bladder was full that her kidneys were working great and that she was swallowing amniotic fluid so that is very good too. She told us that Zoey measured in at a due date 2 weeks after the due date that was given to us. This means my actual and final due date is October 16th. Meaning I am 16 weeks, 6 days, instead of 18 weeks, 6 days. No biggy. Because of this I go back for our second ultrasound May 27th at 10:45 am mountain time. I consider this lucky because we get two ultrasounds in less than a month so another chance to see our Zoey, a little more developed. It will be great. so in 3 weeks when we go I will write another blog about our second ultrasound....until the quads test results----------David and Kelli Clausen
