07-8-2008 - BOTTLE DILEMA CONFUSEDMy mood while writing this blog:
CONFUSED

Okay ladies, I know this can not possibly be as big of a deal as I am making it out to be. I am completely stuck on which bottles to use for our little girl! Its getting pretty freaky, my mom and me are here trying to figure it out but its been three days now. And still no where. I dont want to feed my child with an unhealthy bottle and that is where I am stumped...I know there are alot of BPA free bottles out there but I find something wrong with all of them...

Dr. Browns - they have the glass ones in 4 oz. and then the plastic BPA free in 8 oz...I would like to get them all the same...I cant imagine why they arent.

Avent - I only saw the 4 oz plastic BPA free..I know we'll eventually need the 8 oz...plus they are a little pricey $18.99 for two...thats insane

Medela - I actually havent done much research on this one and havent found anything wrong with them...they are actually pretty handy since they have just about everything in BPA free.

Playtex Drop Ins - I heard these are really good to use but do they prevent colic? Heard they are way easy to clean.

Gerber - I heard these are really good and are pretty inexpensive, but I didnt see them at babies are us or walmart.

I dont know what to do... : / What do you guys think? Let me know about the pro/cons of bottles you are or have used. I need as much info as possible. Thanks.

i suggust the conair ones that have the vent at the bottom! they dont give them so much air which makes them burp more! they were amazing for my son. he had a hard time with the other bottles that didnt vent out the air and was burping and puking up all his milk within minutes! i traded to the other ones and he started keeping his milk down and was happier! good luck!

I am using the Born Free plastic BPA free bottles. I like them a lot(have been using them for about 4 weeks now). They are a little pricey, $18.99 for two though. They are easy to clean unlike all the Dr Browns has. I also found cheap Gerber(Target) and Evenflo(Babies R Us) BPA plastic bottles. They were both $2.99 for a packet of 3 and come in bigger sizes too. The gerber ones leaked a lot for me and the Evenflo worked a lot better. I use the Born Free and then use the Evenflo as back up if I have slacked off on washing them in the middle of the night. With the born free, my little girl is able to drink it faster and the nipple is softer. I feel like the nipple of the evenflo is hard. Hope this helps!

I would recommend the Playtex drop ins. They do prevent Colic as London has never been Colically. They also are very easy to clean. Good luck!

Just a word of advise for ya.....the playtex drop in bottle sucks. The plastic has BPA but the bag that you "drop in" doesn't. I wouldn't recommend those.

You can buy the Gerber ones I was talking about online at Amazon.com or Target.com
