11-11-2010 - 2nd OB appt. today

My mood while writing this blog:
Great

I saw my doctor today for my second checkup & everything seems good so far! My husband came with which was nice but I imagine that he won't come to most appointments in the future if they are just routine appointments. Today was the first time we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat with the dopplar - I did have an ultrasound previously do determine the due date but I didn't actually hear that amazing sound until today. I am so relieved to know that the baby is doing fine & can't wait until I start actually feeling the baby move around. Blood pressure today was 104/62 which she said was very good. Heart rate was at 162 bpm & I am 12 weeks & 5 days today. Next appointment will be around 17 weeks & then we'll schedule the ultrasound! I can't wait to find out what flavor baby we're having this time! Part of me feels like it's a girl but then part of me feels like it would be impossible to have a girl since I already have two boys. No matter what - I'll be thrilled! We are choosing not to do the bloodwork at our next appointment which screens for possible issues with the baby since it doesn't really matter anyways - at this point it will be what it will be & hopefully that means another beautiful & healthy baby. The only complaint I have right now is that my sciatic nerve is acting up & I can't seem to correct it. With my first pregnancy I saw a chiropractor 2-3 times a week for adjustments which was rediculously expensive. Then with the second pregnancy, I could adjust myself to make the pain go away. I am a bit nervous that I haven't been able to remedy this pain on my own yet but hope that I'll figure it out before it becomes dibilitating. I am also craving fresh baked chocolate chip cookies or spritz cookies & peanut buster parfaits from DQ. Another weird craving I had the other day was for Chef Boyardee Ravioli so I went out and bought 8 cans of it. Much different than the last two pregnancies when I just wanted to eat pizza or peanut butter & pickle sandwiches. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing great today!

Glad you and baby are doing well! :) Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches...NICE! :-p I've only had one weird craving this pregnancy and that was for gherkins dipped in Eton Mess (Normally I don't even like Eton Mess...lol) xxx

Glad you and baby are well i look forward to hearing great news of a healthy boy or girl. Keep eating crazy food when were pregnant its the only excuse we get.

That is so funny with the cravings! I never did the extra tests either, it's not like anything would change if something came back with any of them. Good luck!
