| 14-9-2009 - My Horrible Week | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
The beginning of my week was ok until my hubby gets pulled over by the cops. Curtis took our roomate to get him something to eat and on their way back they get pulled over for not having a license plate and no light on that non existant licesnse plate.
We had just bought the car in June, but I was wondering why we didn't have one yet, but I'm getting ahead of the story. The cops pull them out of the car and put them in hand cuffs and sit them on the curb. Right away our roomate decided to tell the cops that he had weed on him. IN MY CAR NONE THE LESS! I call Curtis cuz they had been gone for to long. He answers the phone and tells me they got pulled over. I was so furious because we are kinda riding dirty right now....Meaning we don't have car insurance. I'm thinking SHIT! thats his license and my car and a bunch of money.
Eventually they get back home. The cop let Curtis go because he noticed that we had just bought the car and the cops gave our roomate a weed ticket. Didn't even know those things existed, but they do. Its a $300 dollar ticket. Anyways, I don't do the drug thing and didnt like the fact they were in my car, but I was kinda happy that that took the pressure off of Curtis and on to our roomate.
I decided to go to the DMV the day after to find out about my plates. This is where everything goes wrong. The dealer that I bought it from didn't own the car.....I didn't own the car.....Chase (the bank) I financed the car thru didn't own it. Nobody knew where the title for the car was. We had to go back and forth between Chase and the DMV. Come to find out that I can get pulled over at any moment and had my car repoed because I'm basically driving a stolen vehicle.
We had to go to an investigator in the DMV and talk to him. He had a couple of other people that are having the same issue with the same dealer. He gave me that temporary red sticker that goes in the back of your windsheild until this matter is gone. Also, because the dealer didn't pay the DMV I had to shell out $189 dollars to the DMV to get my name put on the car as the owner. There is a state program that will reimburse me for $150 of it, but even that is not guarenteed. Someone has to pay me back because these fees are already included in my car note and I shouldn't have to pay these fees twice.
Then we get home to find out that the landlord is raising rent to where we can't afford it because Curtis hasnt found a job yet (This economy sucks) Looks like we are gunna have to do a midnight run (meaning leave without paying rent) my thing is I'm pregnant where in the heck are we gunna go you know? We either pay the rent and not pay the car note or pay the car note and not have a place to live.
We have decided that Curtis is going into the Military. We will be speaking with a recruiter on Tuesday so see what the deal is. He doesn't want to miss the birth of our first born children, but thats what we will have to deal with because being on 1 income sucks and its not working very well. Its not that he doesn't want a job he really wants a job, so hopefully everything will work out soon.....VERY SOON I HOPE!
