06-7-2009 - It's a BOY!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

We had our 20 week ultrasound this morning and found out it's a boy! I have to say I was totally shocked! I really thought it was a girl. Anyways, I'm happy either way.

The doctor noticed something though on the ultrasound. She said his heart is on the right side instead of the left! Other than that, his heart looks normal structurally, is angled correctly and everything is connected where it's supposed to be! She was pretty baffled as to why his heart is where it is. I am scheduled for another ultrasound next week and she also suggested we do an MRI to see it a little bit closer. I'm not sure how to feel right now to be honest. I'm so happy that everything else looks good which gives me hope but why does his heart have to be in the wrong place? I guess I would and will feel better when I know the exact reason WHY, which she really couldn't tell us. UGH! I guess I just need to be patient.

If anyone has any knowledge or experience with this, could you please fill me in?
