28-10-2009 - Induction

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

I went for my weekly doctor appt yesterday. Everything is still looking good except my fluid level keeps rising. The "normal" cutoff # is 25cm...I am measuring 36.2cm as of yesterday so they are a bit concerned. The doc came in and suggested an induction at 39 weeks, which would be 11/11 (2 weeks from today!) Yippeeee!!! I was like "sounds good to me!" I guess they have 2 concerns with the higher fluid level... #1 - He's head down now, but with extra room to turn, he could flip and be breach - don't want that! #2 - If my water were to break, there's a chance that the umbilical cord can come out before the baby which is a very dangerous scenario. So they are going to check me @ my 11/10 appt and if all is good, they will schedule me for an induction on 11/11. I can't believe 2 weeks from now, I could very well be meeting my little man - finally! Besides, I'm ready to be done with being prego! LOL

I also got my seasonal flu shot and found out I tested negative for Strep B which was nice to hear after everything else this pregnancy has brought me!

They did an ultrasound and my lil man was sticking all 4 fingers of his left hand in his mouth! LOL It was the cutest thing!! The technician also pointed out him drinking the fluid which was really cool to see!

Anyways, everything seems to be on track. We've met with some of the Neo-Natal team and one of the Pediatric surgeons so we should be good to go! I feel really good about everything at this point. Now it's just a waiting game. We can't wait to meet our son!!! :)
