12-5-2009 - 1 Month Old

My mood while writing this blog: Tired

So Dustin will be a month old in a few days, I cannot believe it! Where has the time gone? He is growing and changing so much and his personality is really starting to show. He is starting to be more awake and alert instead of sleeping all the time. At his last Doctors appointment on the 4th he weighed 9lbs and was 22 inches long already! We go Thursday for a WIC appointment where he will be weighed and measured again, I bet he's at least 10lbs or more by now! He has such a strong neck, he can hold it steady and straight when I hold him up by my shoulder and during tummy time he keeps it up so he can look at his surroundings, he is such a curious boy! He loves tummy time and playing on his baby gym. He loves to look at himself in a mirror, he gets mesmerised by it and makes faces at himself., he also studies peoples faces when they hold him, it's so cute how he is learning a ton by just looking around. He recognises Brandon's and my voices because he can be falling asleep but when he hears our voices he opens his eyes looking for us.

I am still breastfeeding but this last week has been terribly demanding, Dustin has been wanting to eat every hour to hour and a half! My nipples have become so sore from him doing this, but I guess this is just the three week growth spurt. He has also been gassy and mildly colicky with crying fits. Also when he falls asleep I go to put him in his crib and he wakes up and starts crying all over again. I gave him some Mylicon earlier today and it has helped and now he is sleeping soundly...For now.

As for me I am feeling great but I am tired out from Dustin crying and feeding so much. And I swear he knows exactly when I myself am about to eat a meal because he wake up and starts crying almost every time I eat! Well I gotta go some one is ready to eat again! Hope you all are well!
