| 13-8-2008 - 28 Weeks, no weight gain | My mood while writing this blog:confused |
SO here I am at 28 weeks, 7th month, third trimester. I have gained a total of 7lbs since the first Fertility Specialist visit. Needless to say my doctors aren't happy. I swear I ate! I see my high risk doctor and then my regular OB every two weeks. My HR doctor said that he was taking me out of work, and I informed him that my physical therapist already did that b/c of my SPD. He said that he was more concerned then to think that I was at home resting but still no weight gain. He said that I have to take in high calorie meals, and extra things like milkshakes, whole milk and plenty of snacks. He said the baby looks great. He's 2lbs 4oz and is measuring good (about a week behind-which is fine), blood flow is great, amnio fluid is great and he said that his movement is above normal! He said the problem is that they need to begin gaining some fat at this point in development. That I have a minimum of 6 weeks before the baby comes (that is when my shots end) and that he wants to make sure he gets some good fat deposits before then, just in case something should happen. I also had my glucose test today. Fingers crossed. I am excited to hear that all is going well and that everything is measuring well...I guess I just don't know what to do. I have always eaten well and worked out. I'm very athlethically built and 150lbs is the perfect weight on my frame for my build. I guess I need to stop ignoring my urge for junk food, and that is soooo weird to say!! I guess a cheeseburger once in a while wouldn't hurt me, and I will just start snacking when I have the feelings too. I also got some Ensure, he said that will help to make sure that I get plenty of nutrients on top of the extra calories. So for now, it's just rest, eating and hopefully gaining a couple pounds by the 27th.
