28-9-2008 - My husband's accident

My mood while writing this blog: thankful!

So I get a call Sept 24th around 4pm and it's my hubby. He says that he knicked his face at work and needs 2 to 3 stitches, and would call me to pick him up at the hospital. So I knew he was underestimating and would probably need 10...and could hear the people in the background talking about the rescue squad. I asked what in the world are they calling them for if it's just a knick! He said they were over-reacting and he was leaving and he loved me.

WELL! He then calls me at 8pm from the hospital!! I was like good gracious huney what took so long...and he said well come get me and just know that it's a little worse then I said. So I asked what really happened and he said that he was grinding a piece of metal and the grinder bit down and shot backwards hitting him on the cheek bone...I knew then it was bad! He actually needed over 40 stitches and it wasnt a clean cut more like a rip from just below his eye to a little right of his lip crease! It's huge! His eye is black and he's very swollen. He is sooooo lucky that he had on safety glasses and that it didnt hit him in the nose!! they said that nothing was broken and that he missed the main nerve in his face. He said he didnt tell me the truth b/c he knew I'd go into labor right there and wouldn't forgive himself! His work said it was horribly laid open and bleeding when he called me and the rescue squad got there quick and gave him morpheine in the parking lot. Funny thing, I would have never known, he was so calm and collected. Heck he still is!
