02-12-2008 - About to loose my mind

My mood while writing this blog:
exhausted

Thank god I'm not working cause I would have been fired by now. The lack of sleep is killing me. I just bursted out in tears b/c he started crying. He went down at 7:30 last night and didnt get up till 11:45. I was like thank god. I got 3 hours sleep and thought this might be the beginning of the end. Well as usual, I was wrong. I went back to bed at 12:30, he got up at 1:30 fussing. Then he went down around 2. Then was up at 3:30 to eat. Back to bed at 4:15 and then at 5 he was up fussing again. Finally I put him on my chest and we both slept till about 6. Then I had to take my daughter to school which is fun since I can barely keep my eyes open. I came back home by 8 and after eating at 6:30 he wanted a bottle at 9. So I gave him that which he fell asleep after the first ounce and is passed out! AUGH! I dont know how much longer I can live like a zombie! I havent slept with my husband upstairs in 8 weeks now. I feel like I'm just going thru the motions. I am so tired that I dont feel like doing housework but it has to get done. I made plans with a couple of friends to go to a christmas show this sunday and I dont know how the hell I am going to be able to walk around for 8 hours feeling like this! My daughter was a breeze. But I guess having a baby that is 7lbs and one that is 5lbs makes the difference. I just wished that he'd start having good nights. And that I could get myself back.

Aww I'm sorry to hear he's not a good sleeper. You know I think I jinxed myself when I said that Asher was great and what not when it came to only getting up twice a night -- because now he's up almost every hour to hour and a half to eat or to be held. They tell us that you cannot spoil a child at this age, but I find that to be bull because my child won't even let me put him down for two seconds before he starts fussing to be held again. I cannot get anything done!! I totally understand where you are coming from...just think though, this WILL pass!! He won't be doing this for very long; it's just a phase. Other than the sleepless nights, how are you doing?? Is he getting big? Hope you're doing well hun! Take care!

Have you tried swaddling him REALLY tigh when you put him down? This made the difference with Nicholas.....but he was a big baby, too. We used swaddle blankets and got him in there super tight before puttin ghim down to bed and he slept really well that way. If he wasn't swaddled he'd wake up in just a couple hours. GOOD LUCK!!!

Man do I remember these stages. It was so hard. My baby was little and used to the NICU schedule you know feeding every 2 hours 30 min. It was killing me.
You'll make it through, and look back and say man that wasn't so bad!!!!! Good luck.
