09-12-2008 - 2 month appt

Jeese's appt was yesterday and it went great! He is a whopping 10lbs 5oz! I had no idea! I really thought more like 7lbs. The doctor said that he should be sleeping better at night and I told him to tell him that! LOL SO he recommended a 6oz rice bottle before bed. Which was great to hear b/c I didnt want to do anything to hurt him and I tried rice in the past but wasnt using nearly enough! He got shots yesterday and was miserable! I gave him a rice bottle tonight at 8 and tylenol. so we will see what time he gets up!! I really hope I can start getting at least 4 continuous hours of sleep so I can start scheduling when I should go to bed now if this works! He said that he thinks b/c he was small and that the NICU was very clear that he had to have a feeding at least every 4 hours that both of us fell into a pattern and that he no longer needs to eat that way. I never thought of that. He said if he wakes up try other things, diaper change, binky etc...and see if he will fall back asleep until he gets into a better pattern. He does have an umbellical hernia but it is nothing serious and will take care of itself. He said that he is a fisty little boy and he will more then likely keep his blue eyes!! I'm just excited to see if I can get him on a sleep schedule so I can get more sleep and start sleeping upstairs in the bed with my hubby again! LOL
