My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Well Ladies here it goes!
I went to the hospital on 063009 at 0700 hrs, per my doctor. I get there and of course I am not scheduled! The tell me I am scheduled for 070109 at 1900 hrs. They call my doctor and he decided to keep me and start me on Pitocin (the pit). The nurses check me and I am 1cm 75% effaced (same as my last DR appt on friday). They start me on the pit and I immediately start having contraction 2 min apart ( I didn't feel nothing). They let me know they will be increasing the pit every 15min. The nurses tell me the max is 20ml. By about 2000 hrs, Im at 18ml and not feeling anything and still at 1cm 75%! (frusterating). My Doctor comes in at about 2030hrs and lets me know he will be giving me cervidil to soften my cervix. So at about 2230hrs his midwife puts cervidil in me and lets me know at 1130 hrs they will put me back on the pit.
So on 070109, at about 1130 hrs, the nurses check me and I am still 1cm 75%, I cry because its frusterating. MIND you each time they check me they tell me. Well you babies head has not engaged and he is very posterior! UGH! They put me back on the pit and geesh this time it works I finally start feeling the contractions. By about 1630 hrs my contractions are very painful and I begin to cry. I ask the nurse for some pain meds (not the EPI yet). She checks me and I am only 2cm 100% effaced (same comment again was made about my babies head). So I let her know I was going to go the bathroom before she gives me the pain meds. I go pee and return to Myhusband and the nurse telling me they were moving me to a birthing room. WHY!! I ask the nurse and she lets me know that the nead nurse was being nice. She also lets me know that if I don't progress by 2000 hrs the Doctor wants to preform a C-Section on me. He didn't want the baby to go into distress. (Ryder was strong the entire time, heart rate was text book). So I lay down and the nurse gives me some kind of meds that end with a (doyl). It was a god send. I passed out for about 1 hr. At about 1730 hrs, I wake to some painful contractions and my husband taking some blackmail pictures of me. ( I was doped up pretty bad!) The nurse checks me and lets me know I was 4/5cm! YEH! no C-Section! She then says the Doctor is going to break your water and then you'll get your EPI. Ummmmmmm I know that once your water breaks the contractions get suuuuppppppeeeerrrr strong. I try to talk the Doctor out of it and try to convince him to let me get my EPI. Ha Ha well its didn't work! As soon as they break my water, (which is the most disgusting feeling in the world ugh!) on come on the strong contractions. I cry a lil, but mostly say the F-word alot. like Oh F***, Oh F***, lol it helped me out alot! At about 1800 hrs, (still at a 4/5cm) the EPI team comes in and gives me the whole EPI spill. They send my Hubby into the hall (they didn't alow anyone in the room). At this point my contractions were strong, but I was getting use to them and being able to tolerate them. I sit up and bend over, being super still, while the EPI team does there VODO magic. At 1815 hrs the EPI team says ok you can move now. As I am sitting I feel a great urge to POO. I tell the nurse that I really just have to poo and that If i go into labor I don't want to poo on the Dr. She lets me know that it wasn't going to happen (nicely of course) I tell her that I really feel like I need to push. As she is laying me back down She is checking me and say, OMG dont push I see you babies head and you are a 10cm. They rush the Doctor in and my husband. They get me in the READY position and tell me to push! Well 3 contractions and a total of 3 pushes, Baby Ryder Dale arrives. Weighing 7 lbs 8 oz and 19 1/5 inches long. Born on 070109 at 1832 hrs
I only recieved a small tear and the EPI team was still in the room as I had Ryder. They let me know that the EPI had not really kicked in and I might feel numb in a few min. (Hmmmm so what your telling me I really didn't get any EPI). She let my husband know that it "kinda kicked in." Oh well I was just super happy that with in 15 min I dilated from 4/5cm to 10cm and I didnt have to have a C-Section.

While the doctor was fixing me up, I looked at my husband and he was crying (which of course made me cry) he was so happy. I was so happy. Losing a child, makes you appreciate your others so much more. I looked and my son and he was perfect. (I made the nurses clean him up before they gave him to me. Goop freaks me out). I did skin to skin contact with my baby and my husband was a lil jealous so he took of his shirt to and also did skin to skin contact with Ryder.
I know Riley is watching over her lil brother and she plays with him while he sleeps.
