| 09-3-2009 - Hospital Bag | My mood while writing this blog:excited |
I am almost 36 weeks... I really need to start packing...
Here is what I remember I used during my last hospital stay:
1. Diapers (they gave us diapers in the hospital too, but I would take some extra just in case).
2. An outfit to come home in. (for you of course)
3. I bought pads, but like the hospital ones better.
4. Some comfortable stretchy cotton underwear.
5. Warm socks and nursing bra.
6. Soft and warm bath robe (I put it on and walked around the labor and delivery floor).
7. Some warm and comfortable shoes to walk around the hospital (house slippers are the best!)
8. Some entertainment (books, CD players or Ipod, but there is also TV in the room usually).
9. Couple soft comfortable pants and shirts for yourself.
10. Baby outfit. I would just bring something simple and comfortable like undershirt and one piece that zips or buttons all the way up that also has hand cover. Believe me it's way too hard to put on a shirt and pants and socks and mittens separately. Also bring a couple receiving blankets and warm blanket just in case.
11. Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hair brush, body wash, toothbrush etc. (just in case). I ended up using toothbrush and hair brush only.
12. Nipple cream! One that you need to start putting after each breastfeeding for the first week or too or your nipple can get sore and get too dry and crack (ouch!). I used Lansinoh, it was too heavy, then a nurse gave me: "Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream". The Best!
If I remember something else I will update my blog asap. Ok, time to pack!
Oh by the way any advise or suggestion will be greatly appreciated! :)
Edit: Nursing pads, just in case you might leak.
Snack like cereal bar. They didn't let me to eat last time but I feel AWFUL if I don't eat especially for 24 hours.. long labor, I am glad I took snacks.
