17-7-2008 - Mini Vacation

My mood while writing this blog: exhausted

I'm in week 26 now...almost to the 3rd trimester! And my countdown of days is finally in the double digits=)!

Last weekend, I got to get away for a couple days! It was so needed! My husband and I went to Ocean City with my friend, Ang and her 1 year old son. Her grandmother has a place down there, so we got free lodging..woo hoo=) We had little adventures on both the drive down and back..lol. On the drive down, my husband went out of his way to take me to Sonic b/c I see the commercials on TV all the time and wanted to try it. Well, we get there and it's CRAP! Stupid, lazy non-working people, their AC was broken and flies were swarming everywhere. We tried to order sodas and they said that they weren't working and that we would have to buy smoothies and pay the difference. Well, my bitchy, hungry pregnant self told them that that was bullshit and we walked out! I was so upset that I cried b/c my husband was trying to be so sweet..*sigh*.

We finally got to OC and went up to the boardwalk to walk around and shop. Our little guy got so much stuff while we were down there! His nursery is packed with pirate decorations..lol! Our friend got my husband 2 onesies..one says "Daddy's little fishing buddy" and the other "Daddy's little rebel"....he loved them!! We went on the beach and got some cute pics while the sun was setting. And ate dinner on the boardwalk. We walked A LOT! I was a trooper..lol..but I was definitely waddling like a penguin by the end of the night. It was cute b/c when we went to bed, my husband kissed me and told me how impressed he was with how much walking I did..lol! Made me feel good!

The next day, we got up early and went out to breakfast and then hit the beach=) I stayed in the sand with my friends baby while my husband and friend went boogie boarding. It was so freaking hot even under the umbrella! I sat on the beach and panted..lol and drank about 3 bottles of water! I finally caved and got in the ocean just to cool off a little. After about an hour, we got in the car and headed home. Well about 40 minutes into the drive home, one of our tires blew! It apparently 'ballooned'...whatever that means..lol! We pulled over and my husband and friend got out to change it. No jack in the trunk...grr!!! So I flagged people down..figuring they'd feel sorry for a pregnant chick..lol! It worked too..it only took about 2 minutes. We had some really sweet people give us their jack to use and then they wished us well=) I, of course, cried again..lol! The rest of the drive home was uneventful. And my friends baby even slept threw that whole ordeal..lol! By the time we got home on Sunday, we were all exhausted!!! But it was worth it, just for the change of scenery.

That'll probably be our last get-away before Kelly makes his debut=)
