| 12-2-2009 - 35 Weeks + NST | My mood while writing this blog:Excited! |
I went in for my 35 week appointment today (35 weeks, 3 days). I had the Group B Strep test done-wasn't too bad but not something I would want to all the time! She took a long cotton swab and swabbed my vagina and butt-I think she inserted it just a little bit but wasn't too bad. She felt around and estimated that bubs weighs about 6 pounds-but it was just a rough estimate. She checked for dialation (OUCH!) and said I have started to dialate a little! She didn't give me a number but said we were making some progress-so that was really exciting! Then she said she wants me to go in for NSTs (non stress tests) twice a week from here on out because I've had a lot of trouble with my asthma and they just want to make sure everything is fine with baby. So we went over to Labor and Delivery and the nurse hooked me up to the machine. Took about an hour and a half because the baby kept moving away from the monitor and then she must have fallen asleep because they weren't picking up much movement. So she gave me some really sugary cranberry juice and baby started moving around a whole bunch! So I just layed really still and they were able to pick up all of her movements and it was picking up contractions every few (about 7-10 minutes or so) minutes. They weren't the painful contractions so it's not a big deal. All in all I'm really excited after my appointment! Took almost three hours but at least theres something going on down/in there! Dialation and contractions!!! I go back on Monday for my 36 week appt then every monday from here on out until delivery. And another plus is today was the last time I will have to see the midwife (I don't like her) and from now on I will see the actual doctor-who I really like. I also have another ultrasound to check growth on the 23rd since at my last US she was measuring about two weeks ahead so they want to see if she's still big.
