02-4-2009 - Moving Forward

My mood while writing this blog:
Happy and tired

This is the point during my last pregnancy that I was taken off of work and put on semi-bedrest because of all the complications. I love that there haven't been any problems yet and it is probably because Gabe keeps me running all of the time and I haven't gained any weight to speak of.

I still got up this morning and was so tired even though I'd slept a good 8 hours. I know that these last two months are going to be the hardest and with the end of school approaching the kids are starting to get restless at school. I am just hoping to make it another 8 weeks and make it through the last day and then anything can happen.

We just about have our apartment put together and ready for a second baby. I have started to feel a little worried about how Gabe is going to handle having a new baby. A friend of mine had a baby in January and he really liked her-- pet her like a dog and everything:) But, she of course didn't come home with us and take over the house. I keep thinking that it is going to be pretty easy because he is so easy going and young, but he is still a serious momma's boy. At least this time DH and I aren't scared because we don't think we will be able to handle having a baby. He fell into the role of fatherhood much easier than I thought and I think that is why he has been so casual about this whole second pregnancy. He is recognizing that I'm getting tired though-- he brought me coffee and the baby in bed this morning to be my wakeup call. All in all, my guys are pretty sweet.

Kids are tough, they can handle a lot more than we give them credit for. It might be daunting at first, but he will see that even though there is a new mamber of the family, no one else could ever take his place.
Oh, and when you were diagnosed with gestational diabetes, did you have to have insulin shots? Or did your blood sugar just balance on it's own with a change in diet. And, if it did balance out, how long did it take?
Remember when I was freaking out about my first glucose test? When they sent me for another one, they saw how high my blood sugar was and diagnosed me with GD. I have been on this diet now for almost a week and my glucose is still high.

im pretty apprehensive about how my almost 2 year old will react to a new baby too bec he is a MAMAS BOY. lol...i try to get him to recognize and accept that there's a baby in my tummy and have him say good night and kiss it before we go to bed. ur guys do seem sweet. hope u have a peaceful healthy rest of ur pregnancy =)
