My mood while writing this blog: Feeling ready! |
I can't believe that it's already the 13th of October. I still have a few weeks left before my due date but I'm feeling ready!
- The baby's room is almost finished...I found a super inexpensive vinyl wall quote on Ebay of 1st Samuel Verse 27...I hope to get it hung this week...it's my last step to nursery completion!
- I went through a stage of panic yesterday when I worried I would be the world's worst momma...then I realized it was either hormones or not my fault. I pulled out the new baby monitor, and it took me AN HOUR to learn how to use the thing (it's one of those that an alarm goes off if the baby stops breathing)...I finally learned how to work the thing and I think we are good to go...it will be easier once the baby is here and I can test it with something other than a book or my hand...hopefully technology isn't a sign of good or bad motherhood
- As of Friday I was 50% effaced and a fingertip dilated...I'LL TAKE IT! However, i'm not a big fan of the pressure on my bladder and cervix :0(
- Eric is being super protective...which I find very endearing...he's worried to let me drive anywhere, we've been practicing the bradley method at home (including exercises), ,he has a list of every co-worker he works with and their phone #s in case I need to get a hold of him at work and I can't
- We finally had to break it to my MIL that she wasn't welcome in the delivery room...she's a nice lady but I am only allowed 2 people in the room with me (the family birth center has a VERY strict policy) and I decided on Eric and my mom (she has been a labor and delivery nurse for 27 years...AND she's my mom!) I hope that my MIL wasn't too hurt, but we assured her that as soon as things got situated (he's ok, cleaned up, i'm ok, etc) she could be the first to hold him...she's a good person, just one of those people who are very focused on their "illnesses" that aren't so bad...(she has a wart on her foot, she had a mole removed that might be pre-cancerous (she finds out next week), she has a torn rotator cuff, and has really bad dry skin because the changing of the weather)...she kind of reminds you of Debbie Downer...)
- I put up a few new pictures too :0)
I don't want to rush this pregnancy along, so for now i'm just at home enjoying the little guy (even the painful moments!) I hope everyone else is doing well and being healthy!!!

Tuesday, 13 Oct You're ready! I'm jealous, especially of the protective hubby thing. Mine came home from work last night. I was sitting in my recliner with a heating pad on my back (I'm still working 10 hour days). And he asks me to cook him dinner. Grr... Here we have a choice of how many people we want in the labor room. I choose nobody except my husband. My MIL is sweet but she used to be a naturalistic midwife and is full of all kinds of "helpful" information that I don't give a damn about. And my mom is just a pain in the ass. If your MIL is upset about it, I'm sure she will forget when she is holding that wonderful little baby. jrsully24 -
Tuesday, 13 Oct It sounds like you are definitely ready! I wish I could say the same thing- augh! I am jealous:) Definitely enjoy your last few weeks - take lots of baths and do some errands because they become a lot harder when you have to tag along the baby - it is worth it. I just forgot how easy it used to be to run into anywhere! So happy for you:) expecting-2b-patient -
Tuesday, 13 Oct You're ready Mamma! So what have you been doing through out the weeks or will you do now that you're done with everything? I have been home now for 3 weeks and I still have 2-3 more left before he gets here! I've been baking and cooking a lot, but then I eat it, LOL! My MIL is the same way. I am very close with her and she is like my Mom, but she'll take anything and turn it into a negative. I can picture me in pain complaining and rather her give me encouragement, she's agree with me and then proceed to tell me how it will get worse, LOL! Needless to say she will not be in the delievery room either, but then again it never came up so I don't have to deal with telling her she wont be. baby bake oven -
Tuesday, 13 Oct Sounds like everything is going really well! That's awesome! I am not enoying all the pressure down there at all. The doc said at my check up yesterday that he could feel the baby's head in my pelvis but I'm still only about 1 cm... :-( I was 1 cm 2 weeks ago too! Grrr! I'm all about rushing it at this point! LOL!
