| 01-8-2009 - 4D Ultrasound | My mood while writing this blog:Amazed |
Today Dave and I had a 4D ultrasound appointment at 11:15am at a place 20 minutes from us called A Tiny Perspective. Both our Mom's came with us and we all went out to lunch after. What a lovely day it was!
As of July we need to have a doctors note from our OB stating that we are under their care and we are allowed to have the ultrasound. I had to bring the note with me along with a picture of my 20 week ultrasound for them to make a copy of. The state of Connecticut is trying to shut down 4D ultrasound businesses. I know my OB doctor didn't want to give a note to have it done. She said that ultrasounds are for medical purposes, not for our entertainment. Because technically they are not allowed to tell you anyting about the baby. But at any rate she did give me the note and thank God she did. It was a once in a lifetime experience and worth every penny!
Right when we walked in they had comfy couches for us to sit on and the place was really nice. It wasn't like a doctors office at all, but VERY professional! It is owned by a husband and wife. After filling out some paper work we went into another room where there was a lovely sofa chair for me to lay on, a chair right next to it and then couches. You could bring your whole damn family in there if you wanted, LOL! They projected the ultrasound onto the wall, it was huge!!
It was so amazing to see him "up close and personal"! His face was shoved against my placenta- as it is anterior. After a little while and having me move to my left side we were able to get a better lookie at him. *SO CUTE* She didn't move the ultrasound scanner for a moment and we could see him moving all around! He kept putting his hands by his face and was pulling on his ear. It looked like he had really long fingers and was trying to put his hand in his mouth. The coolest was when he yawned... we all said "AWWW" at the sametime. We got to see his baby boy parts in 4D and Daddy liked that, haha!
The experience was so much more then I thought it would be! We were in there for 30 minutes. The atmosphere was so comfortable and welcoming. The woman was so nice and was baby talking to DJ the whole time, calling him by name and smiling. She was so nice!
When it was over my Mom said we have to come back again, her treat! The woman said if we come back with this pregnancy it will only be $99.00 the next. We got four color pictures and probably 20 black and whites. Then the whole thing on DVD set to music. So Dave burnt a copy for both our Mom's to have. It's nice the DVD, because you can see him moving.
I would recommend a 3D/4D ultrasound to anyone, it was an amazing experience!
P.S. Check out the four color pictures in my photo's!
