01-7-2009 - Baby Shower

Ok

Hi ladies,

I have to ask for your help because I don't know what to do. Ok, so my sister offered to throw my baby shower for me and I said ok. Then I told my husband and he said that he insists on paying for it because he does not want to feel like he owes anyone anything. By the way he has always been like that. So my question is how early can I have the baby shower? I am due October 22nd. Also how much would it usually cost to have one? If you ladies know please advise. I have asked him to give me a budget and he refuses to do so........makes it even harder because I don't want to go overboard with the money. Also I would like to have all the husbands/boyfriends there too, to make it more fun. Do you think that it's a bad idea?

Any help would be appreaciated.

You could have your babyshower when ever you want.... and i am also having husbands/boyfriends at my shower... my shower is in August 22nd and my mother is throwing it for me and inviting all my family and friends there is going to be 50 people there also its going to be at her house... you dont have to have it at a hall or anything all you have to get is food and decorations and cake not expensive at all. GOOD LUCK!

baby showers are fun but they are more fun when it is girls only, a baby shower can take place the day before the baby is born ( Mine did ) and as for how much well it depends on the person throwing it.

32 weeks is a good time. It gives you enough time to get the nursery set up before the baby arrives. A baby shower costs around $200. You have to provide food, drinks, games, gifts, and decorations. Not to mention a fabulous cake! Couples baby showers are so much fun, we played a ton of games and people even brought their kids. Good luck

hmm, I would say between 27 and 32 weeks. You will definitely still be pregnant but hopefully won't feel too huge and still cute and pregnant. Plus you will be able to set everything up before the baby comes. Make sure and keep all the tags on the clothes though. Just in case you get a different sex or the baby is much bigger and can't end up using them. Most baby stores take things back for a while.

As far as him paying for it, that's pretty tough. It kind of takes the freedom away from your sister to plan it. I would maybe say to him, she would really appreciate you helping with the food, but the games and things she is not sure how much they will be and kind of wants to do them herself. If you don't think that would work. Just ask your sister to come up with a base amount and then don't tell him if it cost more (besides you really shouldn't know how much it costs as it is a gift to you) HOpe this helps
