My mood while writing this blog: bumbed out! |
Okay, I had my doc appt today and glucose test. My doc appt was fine. I only gained 1 pound since my last appt. Which means I'm at 11 pounds so far. I was really happy about that. The day was going well until I got my blood results from my glucose test... my test was slightly elevated and I have to go back tomorrow for the 3 hour test, ughhhhh! I'm also anemic so my doc prescribed iron for me. I can't believe this! I've been trying to do so well with taking care of myself and now this. I'm glad Jordan is growing great and his heart rate was really good also but now I have to worry about my own health again, just when I was getting used to not worrying about the fibroids! I guess I should be happy I found out now, as both of these things seem to be common in pregnancy. I have to fast tonight for 12 hours before my next test tomorrow and eat lots of carbs with dinner tonight. I sure hope the test is normal tomorrow....I'm still bumbed out!

Friday, 16 May Ok! Here is a thought! The GD (gestational diabetes) - IF you have it!! - AND the anemia is EASILY controlled AND will go away!!!! I go for my sugar test next week and am NOT looking forward to it! I'm "normally" hypoglycemic (ever since my last baby) so I have some concerns there. The THOUGHT of giving myself shots totally FREAKS me out! But, I have a dear friend, who is VERY loopy, and SHE did it for TWO pregnancies! She reports that once you get used to it, it's not bad at all. Then, after baby was born, she sprang right back to normal and that was the end of it. Happy ending! (Oh, and the "shot" was actually like a pen she said, not a syringe and all that. That relieved ME some!)
I also tend to be anemic outside of pregnancy! Good grief! I really AM healthy! LOL!!! If I'm not a good girl with my prenatal vitamins I really feel it! But for most people, you take the iron supplement (since Baby is obviously not leaving anything leftover for YOU! HA!) and bingo! Baby is born - all shiny and healthy and you are back to "normal"!!
But the weight thing??!! There you got it girl!!!! ONLY 11 measely pounds?!?! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! THAT is really the hardest part!! And it takes MUCH longer to get rif of all that than the other stuff!!!
I think you are doing GREAT!!! I don't envy you doing another glucose test -- yuck! And I will be thinking of you and it until we hear results!
Hang in there! Love and laughs, SueAnn
(PS: thanks for enjoying my "freakin' figurine" story!! LOL)
