My mood while writing this blog: happy |
Well ladies I think its time for a lil update! I met with the pediatric surgeon yesterday and I like him! He has been a pediatric surgeon for 40+ years and he was able to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable. Since the "o" is only measuring 2cm, and isn't expected to really grow too much larger, he said there is no reason why I can't have a vaginal delivery!!! That was music to my ears because I want to experience a vaginal birth if I can, and I don't want to spend too much time recovering from a C-section!! I am a gym rat and I've been working out my entire pregnancy, and I know that with a C-section I would have to take time off from the gym to recover from it. Im on a mission to get back into my size 7 skinny jeans ASAP lol!!! I hope what they say is true about working out during pregnancy!!! Also, I passed my glucose test with flying colors!!! The drink wasn't that bad either! It just had a weird after taste!
Well the last few weeks have been absolutely scarey at my job!!! I work at a girls group home for juvenile delinquent girls who are on probation. Unfortunately some of them are trifling and don't have good hygiene. Last week we found out that one of the girls had scabies right before she came to our program, and her little brother now has it!!! But get this....she has been home on several home passes and has been in contact with her brother in their scabies infested home!!! Ewww!! She has been ALL over the facility, lounging all over the furniture, and could have possibly infected us! She doesn't have any signs of scabies at the current moment, but it could take up to 6 weeks for the little critters to show up! Yes....DISCUSTING!! So THIS week there is a new scare around the facility. One of the girls may have TUBERCULOSIS!!! She is currently being tested at the local hospital. She had a positive skin test so they are conducting other tests to get a confirmation. She could have been exposed to TB since May, but her parents and/or the health department let her slide though the cracks and they are just now catching up with this (she was on the run for a while, then she missed several apointments). So of course I panicked and went to get a TB test yesterday. I get it read tomorrow but im scared to death because the injection site has turned red and its about the size of a quarter! I know in order to get a positive result the area has to have a "lump" and its still too early to tell because it hasn't been 48 hrs....but dammit im pregnant and OF COURSE im going to drive myself crazy worrying about this!! To make matters worse I got on google last night and scared myself even more by looking at pics of positive TB skin tests and my arm looks strikingly similar! But hey only time will tell so I will see tomorrow! I swear I don't even WANT to go back to work now! Damn nasty ass kids!!!
Well now about my baby!! At my last u/s I was told that she is measuring small, in the 20th percentile. The doctor isn't concerned because the "o" could make her stomach measurements smaller than the average baby, or it could mean that I just make small babies. Her amniotic fluid levels looked great and she is showing symmetrical growth at each u/s (every 4 weeks) so there is no need to be concerned right now. She weighed approx 2 lbs at my last u/s (28 wks). Today I have an appointment for a 3D/4D ultrasound and I cant wait!! I get a 30 monute DVD and LOTS of pics so I will be back tomorrow with pics, hopefully a dvd, and the results of my TB test!!! Wish me luck ladies!

Friday, 21 Aug That's a lot to worry about on top of the health of your little one inside. I swear some jobs are just pure dangerous. Good luck with all of the tests and germs/bugs going around at your job. I'm scared of scabies too. I'm not a bug person at all. mommyagain3 -
