My mood while writing this blog: Confused |
Where has my period gone? Yes, I am asking this question, the woman that has long suffered from doubling-over menstruation cramps. Why do I ask this odd question? Because the fear of childbirth is trickling into my mind, and I wish I had those doubling-over cramps again just so that I may practice. I've heard of Braxton Hicks, but I hear they are minor cramps and activity makes them go away. There wasn't any kind of activity that ever made my cramps go away when I was on my period. Those were hardcore uterus contractions that kept going like the Energizer Bunny.
*Sigh*
I've surrounded myself with positive birth stories and exhilirating, positive childbirth home videos, but, ultimately, that will not be enough; it will not be enough to merely have a good "vibe" going because once those aches and pains set in and vow to stay until the baby is born (and perhaps a little while after that), what am I going to do?
All I keep thinking is about how long we tried! We tried and tried and tried and here I am, pregnant. It makes me so ecstatic! We tried for 8-9 months and then stopped because those BFN (big fat negatives) were overwhelming. I got on the pill for about 3 months and then stopped because we decided to try again. Then, we only got it right on the 11th try. So, we tried for 8+10 months, which essentially equals 1 1/2 years of trying time! Forget the pain and rejoice in this new human that has decided to call us her parents!
Yes. That is what I shall say to myself. "How long we tried!" That shall be my mantra during childbirth.
