My mood while writing this blog: Anxious |
My husband's cousin's dad works with a guy. That guy has a wife. The wife is looking for a job. So, they gave me her number and I called. She seems sweet, and speaks Spanish (like us), which is a plus in helping me teach my daughter my native language. She already babysits a girl three times a week, but prefers a full-time job. I let her know that the job would be full-time, but that I could not afford to pay her a full salary; I am searching for a family daycare where I can split that salary with other parents (in other words, a person that would care for 2-3 children and gain income that way and, consequently, each parent pays less). She understands. So, she is going to find out if she can care for the little girl in her own home so that she can take my daughter in. Or, she can take my daughter to that woman's home ... this is where I'm not sure about the situation. I don't know the other woman and I'd have to do double the work if I wanted to hire her 'cause I'd have to check her out and the home of the other woman. I think it'd be cool for Lia to be only one out of two kids .... but, I don't know. I told her to ask her employer about different arrangements, think about the price I offered her, think about it in general, and get back to me. If anything, I will call her Tuesday or Wednesday. Aside from her, I've gotten about 11 "No" answers from other licensed providers, one "Yes" (but not sure if I want to interview her), and one "Maybe" (I have to go through an agency first). Any thoughts?
