Wednesday, 29 Jul Did you get the NHS pregnancy book at your first midwife appt? It has a list in there of things you need to take. In the UK you have to provide your own nappies, they recommend not to use wipes for the first few weeks as their skin is too sensitive so you use cotton wool and water. Let me know if you don't have the book and I'll send you the list that is in there. xx carrmommyof3 -
Wednesday, 29 Jul here's my list: extra pillows (colored), music if you want, water bottles for ice, your own washcloths (colored), list of people to call, lip balm, special foods or drink, suckers or hard candy, camera/video camera, comfy clothes for after labor & to go home in, any bathroom accessories (brush, shampoo, tooth brush etc), socks, focal point, snacks, bby book for foot prints, clothes for your SO, nursing bras/robe etc, going home outfit for bby, blanket for bby, car seat, sports bras for comfy sleeping, comfy maternity clothes, old undies (bleeding), maternity pads, extra bag for gifts, & anything else you wanna bring. hope that helps a bit. but like i said you can look it up online. and i think i got a list when i did my birthing classes :) amyandjames..babyno1 -

Wednesday, 29 Jul With my first...all I brought was an outfit for him to come home in. They supplied me with diapers, gauze for wipes and even a case of formula to take home cause I wasn't breast feeding. I packed comfy clothes and feminine products for me. At our hospital, we get wheel chaired to our cars...some hospital safety thing they do. I'm ready to get my stuff ready too but I'm only 25 weeks hahaha. Good Luck!! claire louise -
Wednesday, 29 Jul I'm in the UK also and with my first and second I only stayed in one night and that was because they were born in the evening. My mate had her first yesterday morning and was out by 3pm lol.x excitedmisty (misty) -
Wednesday, 29 Jul At my hospital the babies HAVE to wear the hospital onesie and diaper...you can't change the baby until it's time for discharge (hospital policy on security)...they take pictures of the baby and require it to wear the same white onesies that they provide...you might want to call your hospital to see what they require, my hospital also provides all diapers, wipes, and blankets and we get to take them with us when we leave...
i'm a 1st timer too, i called and asked because i didn't know what to pack! expecting-2b-patient (Cheryl) -
