24-8-2009 - mwife appt today !

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

so i went to the mwife appt today, and she listened to baby took blood pressure etc ! when she measured me i measure a week behind and she said baby wil be small, n it got me a bit worried, sh eput a mark on this graph in my notes and its like on the edge of normal- the smaller edge, she must av seen that i looked a bit worried by it and just said small people have small babies n mice dont give birth to elephants !! random, but its kinda got me worried he isnt growing righ has anyone else had this ?xx again sorry to all i havent been on here to much been mega busy organising DIY in the house - nightmare x

Hmmm.... Don't know what to say but yeah if you are small then suppose you can't have a huge baby. If other then that baby is healthy then I guess you shouldn't worry. I think if your doctor isn't worried then it should all be fine.

I have measured small all the way through until week 34 when he grew 5 cm!!!! They now reckon he is gonna be a 9lb bubs! Not by any means small! The measurement can be affected by the way the baby is lying at the time so I would not worry at all! xx

they told me i was 2 weeks behind at my 34 week appointment and at 36 weeks i was spot on and at 38 weeks i was measuring 40 weeks by the time i was 39 weeks they were ready to induce me as i was measuring 43 weeks.. i went from being told im not eating enougn and im starving my child to she is too big and we need to induce u now

Im sure if they were concerned about it they would have done an ultrasound or something to check. Try not to worry. A week behind isnt too much. Sounds like everything else is going great!

i wouldn't worry too much about it. if something was wrong they would let you know. i guess i would say just be happy he's not huge. lol. i'm afraid mine's gonna be too big for me to push out. makes me nervous with all the problems i had last time. i want this time to be smoother. but really it's nothing you have control over... baby's grow however god meant them to grow, big or small, chubby or skinny. but i'm sure he's just perfect :) tho i do understand that it's natural to worry. i worry alot something will happen to my baby after my ectopic with my second. but i have to remind myself that it's not in my control and i shouldn't worry. everything is how it is for one reason or another. & in the end i'm sure my baby will be just fine. tho i know we'll both feel better once we get to hold them :) can't wait.

i have had the same problem but not with being small with being big...my son was 10.7 pounds when he was born and grew so quickly by the time he was 4 months he was 25lbs and was as big as a 1 year old, he was chubby at first and now at 4 years old he is 50lbs and 4 feet tall and skinny towers over most kids his age...the health clinic said that as long as his head, weight and height are growing at the same rate he is just huge for age. He has been around some 8 year olds lately and besides being about 1 inch shorter than them he looks the same age as an 8 year old.
