17-7-2008 - doctor appointment update

My mood while writing this blog: relieved and happy

So I was very anxious about going to this doctor's appointment today. I have continued to have some spotting/discharge (it is a brownish color). Last time I was at the doctor she checked with an u/s and said everything looked fine and if the spotting/discharge was not red that I should not worry - and that was a few weeks ago. Well, that stopped for about a week and then this past friday it started up again and has continued (somewhat lessening now). So I didn't freak out and call her at the very first sign - I am very proud of myself for that!! ;-) I just calmly waited til my appointment today! So once again just to test my patience my doc was called out of her office for something and the midwife was going to have to see me or I was guna have to reschedule. I decided to stay and see what the midwife had to say but the assistant said she could not give me an u/s grrrrrr. And the assistant said that the doc didn't have it written down in her notes that she was going to give me an u/s this visit! Well, my luck returned and my doc came back just in time to see me. So we did an u/s (my docs u/s machine is very simple and looks a few years old so its not that great a picture and it doesn't have the doppler thing so we can't hear the heartbeat) and the little guy/girl was moving a little and the heartbeat looked fast and strong. Oh and the baby measures 10w1d now so that is three days farther along according to the measurements at the last u/s......one major thought went through my head - i'm going to have a big baby!! ouch!!! lol.....Doc said everthing looked good! YAY!! So she said not to worry about the spotting/discharge but she did a swab thing just to make sure I don't have any infections - I am sooo greatful to her - she takes the extra steps to put my mind at ease! I have an appointment with the perinatal specialist in about two weeks and I am SUPER excited about that one!!! Well, that is all for this update. I am very relieved and excited about the progress. I just know I'm going to be getting more worried later on when it comes nearer to the week that I miscarried.....but trying not to worry about it til then!!

Ok now to put in writing the physical aspects (don't want to call them complaints because I am going to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy because you just never know...) of my pregnancy thus far.......I haven't gained any weight this month which is surprising because I feel soooooo much heavier. But I am glad because I am overweight enough and I know that pregnancy weight starts to really increase the second and third trimester. I feel REALLY full when I eat, and my meals are regular size meals I'm not over doing it!! So I get really full and it looks like I'm 5/6 months along already!! Sometimes I think that someone is going to ask how far along I am and is going to expect to hear 5/6 months and I'm going to respond 3 months.......lol well I can just imagine how I'm going to look and feel when I am really that far along!! I haven't been able to wear my regular jeans or shorts for a couple of weeks already!! wow......I also haven't been able to sleep well through the night since I was a few weeks along so I kinda feel exhausted sometimes. But on a positive note, the morning (all day) sickness has eased up!! yay!!
