| 26-8-2008 - Updates | My mood while writing this blog:excited/anxious |
Ok...first of all, I went to a routine OB appointment last Thursday and my glucose was high. So my doc gave me a referral to the lab to do a glucose test :-( I'm going to do that tomorrow (I've kinda been procrastinating to do it). So hopefully, it was high because I ate a lot of sugar or starches that day and its not going to be a problem soo early in the pregnancy. I'm actually kinda nervous about it because I am overweight to begin with and pregnancy diabetes is not going to be good! I did hear the heartbeat with the doppler at the appointment which was great. It was about 168-170, that has been the heartrate every time. My OB said when I go the my perinatal doc appointment this week (Thursday) that they should be able to tell me the sex of the baby if he/she cooperates!! YAAY!!! She also said "I'm betting its a girl - you 'll have to let me know if I'm right". Whaaaat???? That caught me off guard. lol. I knew I was going to have a boy (I don't know how I knew I just kinda felt it) in my first pregnancy and that is what I was hoping for, but this time is different. Some days I think I'm going to have a boy and somedays I think I'm going to have a girl. One of the reasons I sometimes think its a girl is because my symptoms are very different this time around - don't know if that has anything to do with it but just a thought. I was originally hoping for another boy this time too, but the more I think about it the more I think I would like a girl too! too bad I can't have boy/girl twins!! lol. My bf would love us to have a girl. So hopefully the little girl/guy cooperates and we will know and I can start to shop!! fun fun!! I am also anxious for some other results and things that are going on in our lives right now. I also have some anxiety because we lost our precious baby at 17.5 weeks last time soooo it's getting closer to that marker (I'm 16 weeks today) I'm just praying that everything is good and can't wait to make it past that marker. So patience is something I'm working on right now.....
I am still getting nauseous throughout the day and some heartburn but they both have lessened A LITTLE. And Tums are GREAT for the heartburn. I have been told an old wives tale is that if you have a lot of heartburn during pregnancy then your baby will have a lot of hair. lol my bf loving said "well I guess we are going to have an ewok." lol. How funny. But I have some pains in my back/legs that I can't stand having! I'm guessing some if it is caused by the sciatic nerve?? Dang, it sux!! I literally get "stuck" and can't move or a sharp pain goes down my leg and it hurts!!! I'm just hoping it goes away some and doesn't get any worse because I have always had lower back pain my whole young adult life and this is horrible. On a positive note, I think I have felt the baby move...it feels mostly like flutters but there have been a few times that it has felt like a little "kick" or "bump".
Well, that is it for now and I hope that everyone is having a great time being pregnant! Hopefully I will have an update at the end of this week about pink or blue!!! Geez, I can't help it....I'm soo excited and axious!
