| 11-11-2008 - 27 weeks now | My mood while writing this blog:emotional |
I have two weeks to update on. Last week when I was 26 weeks I had a trans vag u/s to check cervix length, an abdominal to measure baby and another fFN test. Cervix was about 1.5 (if I remember correctly) and there was still funneling but overall the doctor said that there was no significant changes or anything to consider any different treatment at this point. So that was a relief - it didn't look good or better but it didn't look worse either. So the fFN test came back negative-yay!! That was also a relief. The doctor said that with a cerclage in, that could cause some intermitten false positives so we'll see. And last but not least, baby looked excellent, her arms and legs measure a little longer than gest age so we think she's going to be tall. Wow still measuring tall which is surprising because I'm only 5'1" as well as my mom and sister lol. She measured 14 and a half inches long and weighing in at 2 pounds!!! yay I'm am sooo thankful and blessed that she is doing just great!!
So a week went by and today was my next trans vag u/s and a quick scan to check for practice breathing, umbilical cord blood flow and fluid level (which is done 1-2 times a week) and another fFN test. My cervix shortened a tiny bit it was measuring 1.2 and no other significant changes. Fluid levels are great, practice breathing is good, blood flow is good and movement is good - actually she moves A LOT!! Techs and nurses always comment on how much she moves when they are doing u/s or trying to get her on the monitor! lol. Her kicks, punches or whatever she is doing in there is getting stronger. It feels like she is kicking directly on my cervix and is going to kick her way out!! lol and let's not even talk about when she is kicking my bladder!! goodness this girl is going to be a handful!! I love her sooo much. Oh and the best part of my day - while doing the u/s the tech says well looks like she has lots of hair!!!! I didn't even know that they could see hair in ultrasounds!! She saw a patch of spikey hair on top of her head from the front view and so she looked at the back view and said wow its kinda long - and sure enough you could just see it floating in the fluid!! I knew she was going to have tons of hair and this just confirms it. The tech gave me the pics of the hair - they are wonderful!! She also said that she has chubby cheeks already - something else I just knew she was going to have!! Oh it was the best feeling - I can't wait to see her!!! I was crying when I seen her on the u/s and on the way back to my hospital room. Which is another thing that has been going on - I have been an emotional wreck!!!!! I am usually a very strong, not very outwardly emotional person and I have been the TOTAL OPPOSITE!!! Like crying for everything. I know it has a lot to do with pregnancy hormones but I'm just so confused and surprised with all these emotions I have been going through. I have been on bedrest for almost 9 weeks now and on hospital bedrest for 2weeks and 4 days. My next milestone I'm trying to get her to is 28 weeks so thats one more week and then the next one will be 30 weeks and those seem a lot closer now than they did when I thought I was going to lose her and had to get the cerclage and 18 weeks!!!!
I hope and pray that everyone is doing well with their pregnancies and to all my high-riskers out there stay strong and hopeful that we shall have our babies nice and healthy!!! xoxo
