17-12-2008 - Almost killed

My mood while writing this blog: Thankful for my life!

Hello Ladies,

EXHALE..... yesterday I was driving on the express way, and my mind just started thinking about all the things I need to get done before my baby get's here and before you know it I felt my SUV (Xterra) flipping. I remember just praying to God to save me and my baby, when the truck stop turning I remember my hands holding my stomach as tight as I could, I didn't move I just cried because I could see blood running down my legs, I stayed in that position until the police open my driver’s door and asked "Mam are you ok?" I told him that I was pregnant and think I just lost my baby. Once the paramedics came and loaded me up I realized that the blood I saw was from the glass in my thigh from the windshield. Ladies I had to feel to feel in my panties to see if I was bleeding you know where and I WASN'T!!!! I was so excited I ripped my pants off to see for myself (poor paramedic guy) I know he thought this lady is insane. Once I arrived at the ER they checked me out and told me how blessed I was, the baby was fine and he/she is measuring at exactly 12 weeks with a strong heartbeat. Ladies I sometimes take life itself for granted but this experience has truly given me a new outlook on life. I can't wait for my baby to get here, so I can tell he/she thank you for not hurting mommy by leaving me in that car accident. Also I'm doing great just a little scratched up, but besides that I'm GREAT!

Oh, I am so glad you and your bub are ok. I understand your fear, I had an accident when I was pregnant with my daughter. A car smashed into the back of our car, and I went to the hospital with pain in my belly. I waited at the hospital for over 6 hours without being seen by a doctor, so I left and went to a doctor the next day who did an ultrasound and thankfully everything was ok. It's a scary time, you'll probably find you'll be anxious now whenever you're in a car while you're pregnant. I'm just glad you're ok.
