Hello Ladies!

I am 38 weeks pregnant and my stomach is STILL very high, I mean I havent dropped any,,, I dont want to be pregnant another day, Is this normal? I'm just wondering can I still go in labor even if my belly is still high? I am so worried I'm going to end up being pregnant a full 40+ weeks. I have been doing everything people told me to do to bring on labor sex,walking,drinking plenty of waters, squats, and more but NOTHING is happening, I dont even feel contractions, I'm through! I'm almost to the point of going to the ER and telling them I mentally cant take this pregnancy anymore! I am HUGE, my stomach is so big to the point where I can't fit any of my maternity shirts anymore so all I wear is summer dresses, I can't take this anymore.

Please ladies help me, what can I do? and does my stomach have to drop for me to go in labor?

Thanks in advance for hearing me out, I dont wish this part of pregnancy on anyone, I think this is it for me, Call me selfish but this not for me.

Girl, I know how you feel...I pray that labor will come to you soon...it's just too hot to be pregnant

I'll let you in on my little secret which cause my water to break. I was exactly 38 weeks pregnant and I was through being pregnant that day I went into labor i had a doctors appointment. So I wanted to make sure I would be staying in the hospital so i remember something my cousin did that made her water break, she hopped down the stairs. So on my way downstairs to leave out I hopped down each stairs, basically how a child would hop. However, I held on really tight to the railing and the wall. However, when I got down to the last two steps instead of taking them one at a time I hopped them together. i say maybe 10 minutes later my water broke. When my cousin did it, her water broke about 1 hour after she did it. I am not saying its guaranteed but it work for myself and my cousin.

I agree with Liz...Try to enjoy the last couple weeks! I was induced 16 days early due to blood pressure and I wish I would have spent the last two weeks sleeping like crazy! I ended up with a C-section after suffering through labor and pushing because his head just wouldn't come out which might have had something to do with the induction. Just have a good time and get plenty of rest...baby will be here before you know it and you will be exhausted after that! Good luck!

Sumtimes you don't drop until after you are in labor. Good Luck I know how you feel. Been there done that twice. The end of your pregnancy is the hardest part. It will all be over before you kknow it though and you will have your beautiful baby in your hands and it will all be worth it!

I've heard it's normal to not want to be pregnant anymore when you're that far along. Baby will come when it's ready just try to be patient & enjoy this quiet time.

Stomach doesn't have to drop...I thought mine drop but it hasn't, u doing the right things according to what I've heard....not sure if you want to try the castor oil or eggplant thing. It's only a 50/50 chance...I hadn't tried it myself due to my doc saying I'll be induced...alot of girls in the chat room tried it...Kai will be here soon tho ma....I know how u feel...keeep ya head up

I know this might be hard to understand right now..but try to enjoy this time. I was induced at 38 weeks...and if i would have known what I know now I would have spent the 2 weeks prior to having my daughter sleeping. People told me this and i didn't want to hear it, i was soo sick of being pregnant...but trust me..relax right now:) watch movies, lay in bed...eat, I dont remember the last time I made it through a meal in the past 10 days.

No, you don't have to drop to go into labor. I haven't dropped yet either and my doctor thinks it could be any day now because i'm dilated 3 cm and she says my water could break any day now....even though the baby isn't engaged. What could happen, is if you go into labor and they wait for a while and the baby still isn't dropping, you may need a c-section...but the thing is, contractions push the baby down, so being in labor may help the baby engage. As far as getting things going, I have no idea because i've tried everything too. My doctor keeps telling me to walk, which makes sense because of gravity....so keep walking! Remember, just because nothings happening now that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Things can change very quickly. Either way, our babies will still be here very soon :o)

I have no advices for you, sorry-:( Just wanted to let you know I was the same way with my daughter and went 41+ weeks...
I hope you'll find something to trigger labor.
