| 06-7-2009 - Scan Update | My mood while writing this blog:Happier... but still cautious |
Hello.... so I had my scan this morning, sorry it took me so long to update but I had to go back to work and we cannot use the computers at work for personal use, otherwise we will get the sack!
So I'm eight weeks along exactly, which is what I think I am, and the scanner was absolutely delighted with what she saw today. I think she was surprised by the non-reaction from me and my husband, but I don't think they quite get where my head's at. Their attitude is that this is an eight week pregnancy with a strong heartbeat, and what's the problem? Well, I've been there before.....
However, on a more positive note.... this is a new pregnancy, with a heartbeat, and showing exactly as it should do at this point. She suggested that I should just get booked in now and go for normal scanning like everyone else, which would mean my next scan would be between 4 and 6 weeks away. NO WAY! I explained that this week is the week that is causing me most anxiety because I lost my first baby in the ninth week. She agreed she would see me again in two weeks, at which point if everything is still going to plan I WILL go away, and leave them alone because I will then be due another 'normal' scan within two to four weeks after that. That, I can cope with.
So alls good so far. I've told mum, dad, sisters etc, and husband has told his lot too. My sisters had a mixture of reactions including them all saying they knew, and have been talking behind my back about my change of shape, my lack of hayfever pills, and my general crappy look, and greasy hair. Nice! I have a belly already that looks like I might be 4 months gone, so I won't be posting any belly pics ever. I do know what my sister means though, because my belly is slightly rounder than it was, and my trousers are falling down, so something's changed.
So have a wee look at baby number 3, you'll note the scan pic is upside down, because I think it's slightly easier to see the wee thing this way. But I'm not sure it's that clear. Of course I can see arms and legs etc, but then that's what happens when you see what you want to see isn't it?
Thanks again for all the support leading up to this, and roll on 10 weeks, and another successful scan hopefully x
