| 20-8-2009 - 14 Weeks | My mood while writing this blog:Okay |
Hi everyone, just a quick update at 14 weeks.
I've now been signed up with a midwife, and will see her on September 1st. I won't be having a scan, just a chat, and maybe finally get to hear the heartbeat, but I'm not sure.
I've officially got a belly now. I can't button my work trousers any more unless I'm standing up, but when I sit at my desk I have to undo them. I bought a black belly band and wear that and it's fine. I will need to think about getting some maternity trousers. I have quite a lot of stretchy tops though, so I'm not running out of stuff to wear on top just yet.
My stomach is rock hard, and I can definitely feel the difference above my pubic bone, especially when I wake up in the morning. My sister gave me her doppler but I don't think I've been successful in finding the heartbeat yet. I can hear a heartbeat (or a pulse) but I suspect it's my own. When I time it, I don't think it's fast enough to be a baby's beat. Maybe it might be a pulse in the placenta possibly. Any advice on this would be appreciated though.
I did take the baby to see U2 the other night and I hope it enjoyed the show. I know I did and I was jumping about like crazy, hanging onto my bump. At one point I asked my husband if he could hold the baby for me so I could party! He looked at me like I'd lost it! Good education for the baby, if indeed it can hear at this point, I'm not sure?
Sickness has all but gone now, just an occasional sicky feeling, and some new GAGGING! Nice. Especially when I wake up first thing. I've cut back on my dairy a bit cause I think it bungs me up and it starts the gagging. I've put on 2lbs, which I am actually delighted about cause I really worry about my weight. I thought I would have piled it on at this point, but I haven't so far, which is all good. I know it will come eventually but the longer it stays away, the better I hope the end result will be.
So that's about it I think. Cannot wait to leave work! I have told them I'm going before Christmas and they said that was okay, so the countdown is on. Trying not to read any horror stories about labour, and have booked the appointment to get a tattoo on my forehead.
It will read simply GIVE ME THE EPIDURAL B*TCH...... It's okay I have a big forehead! I think she will get the message........
Oh PS my sister-in-law is still hanging onto her twins too (3 previous miscarriages), and is due at exactly the same time as me. Three babies in one go for my mum and dad!
